A pregnant woman in Indonesia was diagnosed with HIV after initially receiving a negative test result during routine screening. Following the diagnosis, a Community-Led Monitoring (CLM) enumerator provided support and facilitated her referral to a specialist HIV treatment centre.
The client promptly initiated antiretroviral therapy (ART) and received ongoing peer support throughout her pregnancy. As a result, her health improved significantly, and in February 2026 she safely delivered a healthy baby. Early Infant Diagnosis (EID) testing later confirmed that the child was HIV-free.
This case highlights the important role of CLM in ensuring timely access to treatment, supporting adherence, and preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
